How can I edit a chart's specification?

At this time, it is not possible to directly edit the specification for a module (such as a chart or component) in Plotly Studio.

Specifications are natural language descriptions that Plotly Studio generates based on the prompt that you provide for your app modules. Specifications give you visibility into what the LLM ultimately consumes to generate your app charts and other elements. Even if you can't edit them directly, you can use specifications to improve your app.

One powerful way to use specifications is to copy them and insert them into the prompt of a new module. For example, if you generated a chart that you only want to make a small change to, you can copy the original chart's specification and paste it in the prompt of a new chart while specifying what you want to change.

The new chart will have its own read-only specification that you can keep iterating on in the same way. You can delete unneeded charts as go you. Happy iterating!
