Private Index Packages

User Problem

Currently, users who rely on private Python packages for their data analysis and application development face a significant hurdle. They need a secure and streamlined way to integrate these internal packages into their Plotly Studio projects, similar to how they would use publicly available packages. Without this capability, their workflows are disrupted, and they're unable to fully leverage their organization's proprietary code within Plotly Studio.

What Is It?

This feature introduces Private Index Packages support within Plotly Studio. It provides a secure and integrated mechanism for Plotly Studio to connect with and install a private package from a private package index (like a private PyPI server or an artifactory).

What Does It Allow Users to Do?

Private Index Packages in Plotly Studio will allow users to:

• Install private Python packages: Users can seamlessly install packages hosted on their organization's private index directly into their Plotly Studio environments.

• Manage dependencies: Users can easily manage dependencies on private packages, ensuring their data applications have access to the necessary internal libraries.

• Enhance security: Users can work with their sensitive or proprietary code in a secure environment without exposing it to public repositories.
