Global AI Rules

User Problem

Users often struggle to maintain consistency in AI-generated content across various projects in Plotly Studio because they must repeatedly input the same guidelines, preferences, or constraints to the AI assistant for each new task or project.

What is it?

This feature is called Global AI Rules. It's a personalized settings option within Plotly Studio that lets users define general, natural language instructions for the AI assistant. These rules are saved specifically to the user's account and are automatically applied across all their projects.

What Does It Allow Users to Do?

Global AI Rules allow users to establish a persistent set of behavioral guidelines for the AI assistant.

  • Ensure Consistency: The defined rules are automatically included as contextual information in every AI prompt. This ensures that all AI-generated content, suggestions, or analyses consistently align with the user's saved preferences.

  • Save Time: Users no longer need to manually type the same instructions repeatedly, leading to a faster and more streamlined workflow.

  • Define Universal Preferences: Users can set rules for broad preferences. For example, a user could set a rule like: "Always use a red color scheme for all generated visualizations" or "Keep all chart titles concise and less than five words." The AI will then follow this instruction across all projects and tasks until the user changes the rule.
